Course Overview

A Science-Backed, Practical Approach to Trauma Healing and Nervous System Regulation

Understanding the nervous system is at the core of trauma healing, yet many therapists lack a structured, science-backed framework to apply in practice. This masterclass provides a deep dive into Polyvagal Theory, equipping you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to facilitate profound healing for your clients.

Polyvagal Theory explains how the nervous system shapes our emotional, behavioral, and physiological responses to stress, trauma, and connection. By mastering this framework, therapists can guide clients toward greater self-regulation, resilience, and healing. This course bridges the gap between complex neuroscience and practical application, allowing you to confidently integrate nervous system regulation techniques into your existing therapeutic work.

Through this meaty 6-module immersive training, you will explore how the autonomic nervous system adapts to trauma, how to assess nervous system states, and how to implement interventions that align with somatic and neurobiological healing approaches. You’ll learn real-world techniques, including breathwork, movement, grounding strategies, and somatic interventions, that help shift clients from survival states into safety and connection.

In addition to the fundamental Polyvagal principles, this masterclass dives into cutting-edge innovations in trauma therapy, exploring how biofeedback, neurofeedback, virtual reality, AI, and EMDR integration are shaping the future of therapeutic practice. The knowledge you gain will not only enhance your understanding of trauma but will revolutionize your therapeutic approach, making your practice more effective, compassionate, and transformative for clients.

This masterclass is structured to be both theoretically enriching and practically applicable, ensuring you walk away with a concrete roadmap for integrating Polyvagal Theory into your work, regardless of your therapeutic background. Whether you're working with developmental trauma, attachment wounds, PTSD, or anxiety-related disorders, this course will empower you with the tools to create meaningful, lasting change for your clients.

By enrolling in this masterclass, you will gain a deeper appreciation for the body's innate capacity to heal and develop strategies that honor the nervous system’s adaptive intelligence. This course is not just about theory, it’s about transformation, providing you with actionable interventions that will make an immediate impact in your clinical practice.

If you’re ready to elevate your trauma therapy practice, help clients navigate their nervous system states with confidence, and integrate Polyvagal-informed approaches that align with the latest scientific advancements, then this masterclass is for you.

Curriculum

This 6-module masterclass provides an in-depth exploration of Polyvagal Theory and its practical applications in trauma therapy. Instructor

The Counselling Academy Director Esjai Mason

Esjai Mason is an experienced trauma therapist and EMDR practitioner with six years of hands-on experience using EMDR in most client sessions. Over the past two years, Esjai has trained and supervised over 100 therapists through online training and supervision, providing in-depth guidance on mastering and integrating EMDR techniques into therapists daily work. Now expanding into live, in-person training, Esjai brings a holistic, neuroscience-informed approach to trauma therapy, equipping practitioners with practical, actionable tools for client healing. Esjai integrates Polyvagal Theory with EMDR, demonstrating how understanding the nervous system enhances trauma processing and regulation. By combining Polyvagal insights with EMDR techniques, Esjai helps therapists support clients in moving more effectively through dysregulated states toward deeper healing and resilience.
